Common Questions - tissue for your issue?
As the laundrette is self service, there is not always someone there to assist you, we get it, something is wrong and you dont know what to do - keep your cool and know you can call us on the numbers provided in the laundrette or at the bottom of this page. Most issues are minor and easily fixed, have a look below and see if these help.
I'VE BEEN CHARGED TWICE
The terminals can take around 5 seconds (that can feel like a lifetime) once you swipe your card to engage the washing cycle. Resist the temptation to swipe twice.
If it happens & there is two charges for the one wash, please contact us (we will need to know the machine number, time and ideally a screen shot of the double transaction). We then can review the footage and refund the same day.
IT WON'T START
Make sure the soap dispenser is closed and the door is shut.
The large machines have a lock in handle that may need a jiggle to lock it in.
The dryer doors can be fussy and do need a firm push to close. If it pops open while dryer it generally means there is too much linen inside
NOTE - washing pods need to go inside the machine with the clothes to ensure there is water flow.
MY CARD WON'T WORK
Unless there is a complete IT outage, we sugget trying another machine and checking your account.
On very rare occasions, the machines may need a reboot (turn it off and on again and hope for the best), this only we can do in person so contact us.
IT'S STOPPED & I CAN'T OPEN IT
A common user error, if you put too much washing powder in, it can not flush through with the water cycle and the machine will throw an error code.
Only use a small amount of powder or liquid - more doesn't mean clean - in fact it's the opposite!
Too much soap will create too many suds and the machine will patiently sit until all the suds have subsided before continuing. This will feel like forever.
IVE LOST MY STUFF
Be prepared if you leave your items in the machines, someone will remove them once the cycle is completed to use it for themselves. Leave your basket at the machine unless you want your linen left on the bench. Maybe even set a timer to make sure this doesnt occur.
